Carlow Weather Driving Forward in New Duster

THE driving forecast for 2020 is looking good as Autoimage Carlow has unveiled Alan O’Reilly as their new brand ambassador.

Alan, who is known throughout the country for his forecasting service, Carlow Weather, picked up the keys to a brand new four-wheel drive Dacia Duster this week from Autoimage Carlow, the county’s main Renault and Dacia dealer.

Tullow native Alan started Carlow Weather in 2008 as a free service offering local weather reports from his own weather station in his parent’s back garden. From humble beginnings, the weather and social media enthusiast has grown his online presence to over 60,000 followers and receives millions of views monthly.

Now a regular voice on national radio and television, Alan reports on severe weather events and combines his photography skills with his online presence to promote Carlow and surrounding areas.

“I’m thrilled at the opportunity to partner with Autoimage Carlow as I believe in local business. I always promote the #LoveCarlow and #ShopLocal – and as a long-time customer of Autoimage, I know the value of having excellent customer service and dealing with a local company you can rely on,” said Alan.

The Dacia Duster was Carlow’s top selling car for the past two years running – and it’s this car that has captured the weather man’s attention. Owner of Autoimage Carlow Jeff Pratt thanked Alan O’Reilly for coming on board as brand ambassador, stating that he is an “incredible asset” to the county.

“Alan is top class for his weather knowledge and we all rely on the information he puts out. I can’t think of anybody better to represent Carlow and our brand than Alan because of his excellent reputation with Carlow Weather. He has family roots in this area, and a long association with the motor industry. I think his passion for Carlow and celebrity status means he’s the right man for this job,” said Jeff Pratt.

Alan will also get an opportunity to test drive a range of Renault models, including the new Renault Captur PHEV, Clio E-TECH hybird and the latest fully electric Zoe, which is something he is excited about. “I have a passion for technology and I’m excited to see Renault’s new electric models, the move to Electric is gaining momentum and Renault are at the forefront with the Zoe being one of the earliest fully electric models available,” he said.
